Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka, from Minsk (the capital of Belarus), is one of the children of Sergey. Sergey the father of her (who died in 2019), was an ice-hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born on May 5, 1998, in Minsk Belarus. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles. One of which was the Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is another aspect where she has a great record. It was the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. Additionally, she was able to complete her Sunshine Double in 2019, winning the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open along with Elise and Mertens. Only four women's pairings were able to achieve this achievement. She rose from second to third place in the world singles ranking on the 23rd of August in 2021. Her top ranking was achieved again in the month of January in 2023. Her climb up to the top of the doubles rankings in the next year after taking the title the doubles title in Melbourne. This made her the only Belarusian tennis player to achieve success in the field. She was trained by the former Russian tennis champion Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the season in 2019 and from the beginning of 2020. It was also a short time that she teamed up with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. She is being trained by her native countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Her idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
